Course Description
This course reflects the role of individuals who apply specialised knowledge and skills, together with experience in leadership and management, across a range of enterprise and industry contexts.
Students at this level use initiative and judgement to plan and implement a range of leadership and management functions, with accountability for personal and team outcomes within broad parameters
Learner Characteristics/ Target Group
This course is available to overseas students wanting to work in Business Operations roles in Australia who are:
- • Looking for new or better opportunities in their career
- • Seeking to change careers
- • Seeking better opportunities for work and studying in Australia
- • Seeking a pathway to higher education qualifications
Students are expected to have basic operational business experiencing or knowledge in business operations and be undertaking this qualification in order to further build on those skills and knowledge.
Students are expected to have Diploma level skills or knowledge in leadership or management and be undertaking this qualification in order to further build on those skills and knowledge.
RPL is available to ensure that those are recognized and the amount of training is adjusted accordingly.
Pre-Requisites and Entry Requirements
There are no pre-requisites for this qualification or any of the units of competency contained within it.
Clinton Institute requires that students are able to provide evidence that they:
- • Are at least 18 years of age
- • Have completed a Diploma or Advanced Diploma from the BSB Training Package (current or superseded equivalent versions) OR Successful completion of Diploma or higher qualification within the business or another training package, or relevant business experience
- • Are able to demonstrate a level of language, learning and numeracy skills suitable to this course (test to be administered by Clinton Institute includes written assessment and phone interview)
- • Are able to provide evidence of an IELTS score of 5.5 or equivalent (test results must be no more than 2 years old) OR be able to provide the evidence of English Language competence as per detail of entry requirement
Pathway
This qualification provides a pathway to work in the private and public sectors of business, and small and large enterprises. Possible job titles include:
- • Team Leader
- • Manager
- • HR Manager
Students who complete this course may wish to continue their training by undertaking qualifications such as Bachelor’s Degrees in Business, Human Resources, and Management.
Training and Assessment Arrangements
Students must attend twenty (20) hours of classroom training per week as per attendance requirements for international students. Students will also be required to complete approximately 6 – 10 hours per week of personal home study as suggested and directed by the trainer/assessor.
Assessment will occur through a variety of methods, including projects, role-plays, case studies, observation, and written answer questions. Where required, assessment conditions will ensure either a simulated workplace environment (for classroom-based observation tasks) or instructions to complete the task.
Assessment tasks:
- • Reflect real life work tasks
- • Are required to be performed within industry standard timeframes in relation to each task
- • Are assessed using assessment criteria that relate to the quality of work expected by the industry
- • Are performed to industry safety requirements as relevant
- • Require students to work with others as part of a team
- • Require students to plan and prioritise competing work tasks
- • Involve the use of standard, workplace equipment such as computers and software
